Wear the Light is a creative project exploring light as a wearable and immersive medium.
We create lightworks from pre-loved clothing. We illuminate fabrics and textiles. We make unique wearables from jewellery to hats to accessories.
Who is Wear the Light?
Wear the Light brings together a team who are highly experienced in digital media, lighting and costume design. Our focus is to create illuminated garments and interactive experiences for festivals, public events, cultural spaces and on the streets. Team members are Producer/artist Julianne Pierce, Lighting Designer/artist Margie Medlin, Costume Maker Sacha Roberts and Electronics Engineer Colin Gould.

Wear the Light – launch
On October 28 & 29 2021 Wear the Light was launched at our pop-up Light Bar in North Adelaide Village. Our guests enjoyed the antics of the amazing Wear the Light performers on the catwalk and on the dance floor.
Partners
Wear the Light has been supported by the City of Adelaide City Experience Program. We have been based in a shop at the North Adelaide Village to create our first stage creations and prototypes and presented four nights of roving performance. During August 2021 we presented roving performances along O’Connell St North Adelaide where our performers Jo Zealand, Eloise Green and Emma Harper illuminated the streets and delighted diners and pedestrians.
Wear the Light is also supported by Australia Council for the Arts and Dept for Premier and Cabinet through Arts South Australia.
